There Must Be No Backstop, Time Limit or Not

The DUP now look like they are backtracking on the backstop, following a similar move by Jacob Rees-Mogg's European Research Group. They are now telling us that a time-limited backstop is acceptable and they could back it as part of May's deal, leaving Northern Ireland bound - supposedly temporarily - in regulatory alignment with Dublin and Brussels.

As a UK Unionist party we wholeheartedly reject any backstop proposal. For Northern Ireland to be given this sort of separate treatment, whether there is a time limit or not, is totally unjust and unnecessary. Northern Ireland's status as an integral part of the UK is absolutely unequivocal. It must leave the EU with the rest of the UK and on the same basis.

The backstop is just another example of how the current political establishment cannot get us out of the EU, never mind begin to rebuild our country. This is why we say there must be a new political force to rebuild Britain's constitutional, economic, social and moral foundations. A Britain that is Sovereign, Industrial, United, Democratic, Traditional and Functional;  that is something like the country that we used to know.

That's why we have our Ten Point Plan to Rebuild Britain and sort our country out. It's no use being a single-issue pressure group on the Tories over Brexit like other anti-establishment parties. We need a serious party that will stand on a broad manifesto to rebuild our country before it is too late.

1. UK Unionism

2. Leave the EU

3. No More Referendums

4. End Mass Immigration

5. Rebuild Infrastructure

6. Rebuild Industry

7. Fiscal Responsibility

8. Family Values

9. Get Tough on Crime

10. Protect Free Speech & Liberties
